Open Data: Tokyo Family-Facility Datasets

Everything on this site is built on three structured datasets we maintain ourselves in Tokyo: which Japanese restaurant chains have which family facilities, what surrounds each major Tokyo station for a family with a small child, and how each attraction we have checked works at each age. All three are free to download as JSON under a CC BY 4.0 licence — use them in research, apps, or your own guides, with a link back to this page.

Tokyo attractions × small-child suitability
51 attractions, parks and day trips with a verdict and its reason for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, indoor or outdoor, booking requirement, nearest station, how long a visit takes from our notes, the free-admission age band (no prices), and nursing room / changing table / stroller rental / kids' space — every facility record labelled official, editorial or visited.

Where the data comes from
The chain table is the English adaptation of the facility database behind kyounoko.jp, our Japanese-language site: each chain’s row was compiled from our own visits and cross-checked against the chain’s official information, and carries the date it was last confirmed. The station table is the same team’s mapping of what sits around each station, written for visitors. The attraction table keeps the same source labels as the 51 attraction pages: every facility record says whether it came from the venue’s official information, from our editors’ data or from our own visit, and admission is given as a free-age band rather than a price.
Facilities change. If you republish the data, keep the verification dates with it, and tell us about errors via Pinterest.
