Tokyo Mom Guides (“we”, “us”) publishes free guides at tokyomomguides.com. This page explains what data is collected when you visit, and your choices. We keep it plain because we are a small parenting team, not a data company — we do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not run a newsletter sign-up on this site. The data involved is the standard information a website and its service providers receive automatically:

  • Basic analytics. Aggregated, non-identifying data about pages viewed, rough location (country/region), device type and referring site, so we know which guides are useful.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes requests and may log IP addresses for security and reliability.
  • Cookies & similar technologies. Used by the third-party services below (advertising and affiliate partners). We do not use cookies to build a personal profile ourselves.

Advertising

We may display ads through Google AdSense and its partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits here and elsewhere on the internet.

Advertising may not be active on every page or at all times; this section describes how ads work when shown.

Affiliate links

Some pages contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a booking or purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and the partner may set a cookie to attribute the referral. See our affiliate disclosure for details.

Children

This site is written for parents and carers planning travel — it is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices & rights

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and use the ad opt-out links above. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK or California), you may have rights to access or restrict processing of your data; because we do not hold personal accounts, most requests are handled through the third-party services named here and their own privacy controls.
