Kasai Rinkai Park with Kids: The Aquarium-and-Park Day

Kasai Rinkai Park is the best pure-park day in Tokyo with small children: a huge, flat bayside park with an excellent aquarium, a big Ferris wheel and endless lawn, right outside the station. It is on the Keiyo line, the same line as Tokyo Disney Resort, so it slots in perfectly on either side of a Disney day.
If your kids need a day with no crowds, no stairs and a lot of running, this is it. Kasai Rinkai Park sits directly outside its own JR station on Tokyo Bay: wide flat paths, big lawns, a Ferris wheel, a bird sanctuary and Tokyo Sea Life Park, an aquarium famous for its huge tuna tank and its penguins. It is two stops from Maihama (Tokyo Disney Resort), which makes it the ideal low-key day before or after the parks. Ootoya. Home-style Japanese set meals — an easy way to try real washoku with kids.
Saizeriya. The cheapest sit-down meal in Japan. Kids’ plates, high chairs, and you can bring baby food — the default lifesaver.
Marugame Seimen. Cheap fresh udon, soft and easy for little ones. Tray-line service, so a stroller needs a helper.
CoCo Ichibanya. Build-your-own curry — you set the spice level to 0 for a mild kids’ plate.
McDonald’s. Predictable, fast, high chairs and a changing table in most branches.
Facilities vary by branch and change over time — treat this as “what to expect”, and any staff will help if you ask “high chair?” or “changing table?”.
Nursing rooms & changing near Kasai-Rinkai-Koen Station
- Tokyo Sea Life Park (the aquarium) has a nursing room and changing tables inside — the most comfortable stop in the park.
- The park’s main rest houses and the restrooms near the Ferris wheel have changing facilities.
- The station building itself is small, so change and feed inside the aquarium or a rest house rather than at the station.
Strollers, elevators & getting around
- This is the flattest, most stroller-friendly destination in this guide: paved, wide paths from the station gate all the way through the park.
- It is big and exposed — bring sun cover in summer and a windproof layer in winter, and note that shade is limited on the lawns.
- The Keiyo line platform is step-free, and it is two stops from Maihama for Tokyo Disney Resort — an easy pairing with a park day.
