Odaiba is arguably Tokyo’s most stroller-friendly area with kids: it is a purpose-built bayside district of wide, flat walkways and huge malls (DiverCity, Aqua City, Decks) that are all step-free, air-conditioned and full of baby rooms. Add the Miraikan science museum, a beach and the life-size Gundam, and it is an easy full day.
Odaiba is a reclaimed island of malls, museums and waterfront built for crowds — which happens to make it a dream with a stroller. Everything is new, wide, flat and connected by covered walkways, the malls compete on family facilities, and the attractions (a science museum, an indoor Lego centre, a beach, a giant Gundam) are aimed squarely at kids. Reach it on the Yurikamome line or via Tokyo Teleport on the Rinkai line. Here are the kid-friendly chains, the baby rooms, and how to get around.

Gusto. Full family restaurant: kids’ menu, drink bar, a changing table, and a tablet to order in English.
Jonathan’s. Same group as Gusto, a step calmer. Booth seats and a changing table.
Kura Sushi. Like Sushiro, with a “Bikkura Pon” capsule toy every five plates — pure kid catnip.
Saizeriya. The cheapest sit-down meal in Japan. Kids’ plates, high chairs, and you can bring baby food — the default lifesaver.
Marugame Seimen. Cheap fresh udon, soft and easy for little ones. Tray-line service, so a stroller needs a helper.
CoCo Ichibanya. Build-your-own curry — you set the spice level to 0 for a mild kids’ plate.
Facilities vary by branch and change over time — treat this as “what to expect”, and any staff will help if you ask “high chair?” or “changing table?”.
Nursing rooms & changing near Odaiba (Daiba / Tokyo Teleport)
- DiverCity Tokyo Plaza (by the giant Gundam) has multiple baby rooms and a big food court — the most reliable base on the island.
- Aqua City and Decks Tokyo Beach also have well-kept nursing rooms and changing tables on their family floors.
- Miraikan (the National Museum of Emerging Science) has spacious baby rooms and is one of the most stroller-friendly museums in Tokyo.
Strollers, elevators & getting around
- Odaiba is the flattest, widest, most step-free area in this guide — the malls and elevated walkways are all pram-easy and connected under cover.
- The Yurikamome is a driverless elevated train with step-free access and great views (kids love the front window); the Rinkai line’s Tokyo Teleport station is also step-free.
- Odaiba Seaside Park and its beach are flat and open — a rare bit of sand and sea view in Tokyo for a run-around.
