Toyosu is a modern, flat, purpose-built waterfront district, which makes it one of the easiest areas in Tokyo with a stroller. It is the station for teamLab Planets and Toyosu Market, and LaLaport Toyosu — a big mall right by the station — has excellent baby rooms and family restaurants.
Toyosu is reclaimed land: wide roads, new buildings, lifts everywhere, and almost no stairs — the opposite of old Tokyo. That alone makes it a relief with a pram, and it also happens to hold two of the city’s biggest draws, the teamLab Planets digital art museum and the Toyosu fish market that replaced Tsukiji. LaLaport Toyosu anchors the family side with baby rooms, a food court and a bayside boardwalk. Here are the kid-friendly chains, the baby rooms, and how to get around.

Ootoya. Home-style Japanese set meals — an easy way to try real washoku with kids.
Saizeriya. The cheapest sit-down meal in Japan. Kids’ plates, high chairs, and you can bring baby food — the default lifesaver.
Marugame Seimen. Cheap fresh udon, soft and easy for little ones. Tray-line service, so a stroller needs a helper.
CoCo Ichibanya. Build-your-own curry — you set the spice level to 0 for a mild kids’ plate.
McDonald’s. Predictable, fast, high chairs and a changing table in most branches.
Facilities vary by branch and change over time — treat this as “what to expect”, and any staff will help if you ask “high chair?” or “changing table?”.
Nursing rooms & changing near Toyosu Station
- LaLaport Toyosu, the big mall by the station, has multiple well-equipped baby rooms (nursing booths, hot water, changing tables) — the most reliable base in the area.
- Toyosu Market has restrooms with changing facilities, though it is an early-morning working market rather than a comfortable baby stop.
- teamLab Planets has changing facilities; note that you go barefoot and some rooms have water, so plan a change of clothes.
Strollers, elevators & getting around
- Toyosu is among the flattest, most step-free areas in Tokyo — wide pavements, lifts at the station, and a mall you can cross without a single stair.
- teamLab Planets is a barefoot, water-and-dark installation: strollers are parked at the entrance and it is intense for very small children, so it suits confident walkers more than babies.
- The bayside boardwalk by LaLaport is flat and open, with harbour views — a calm place to walk a baby to sleep.
